THE ARRIVAL OF THE PORTUGUESE
"Entry of the Portuguese" is one of four murals found in walls close the arches of the ambulatory of the Cathedral of Ceuta and were painted by Miguel Bernardini born artist Aguilera (Burgos) in 1898 and died in Ceuta in 1970. He studied at the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid. These murals represent different episodes in the history of Ceuta. The other three are "The Pass of the Convoy of Victory", "The Procession with the image of Our Lady Crowned (Valley)" and "King John I of Portugal knighting their children."
