The prestigious Volvo Ocean Race is the Round the World Sailing the best boats where they compete in a frantic struggle to be the first to turn around the planet Earth within a few weeks. The tenth edition (2008-2009) left the port of Alicante to cross oceans and five continents. Traditionally, the Volvo Ocean Race has focused its scenarios in the Atlantic Ocean, but for the first time in history has had its starting point in the Mediterranean Sea.
