One of the most widespread barbarism Valencian language is the word vacances, a Catalan Gallicism introduced by the chemist born in Cuba and living in Bilbao Pompeu Fabra. The correct term is Vacacions that, contrary to what may seem, not English.

Vacacions comes from the Latin vacatio , vacationis . It's the same Latin root oratio, orationis , from which comes the word Oracions . If from oratio , orationis say Oracions (Not orances ) by the same token, of vacatio , vacationis Vacacions must say (and not vacances ).
